Utica Dollars for Scholars® is a locally controlled scholarship foundation which is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization affiliated with Scholarship America®. 

We are most grateful to be an active community partner in helping fuel the future of our community through student scholarship investment. We do this by encouraging and creating opportunity for young people who are first entering college. Together we support their continuing education, plus recognize academic success and leadership in community and school activities.

The local volunteer scholarship committee looks forward to once again identifying highly motivated students, particularly those with financial need, as recipients of your generosity. Can you help us and local students, achieve success through higher education, again this year?

Over 2,200 students since 1994 have received over $2 million in scholarships. Last year alone, student grants awarded exceeded $300,000, illustrating an important benefit of belonging to a community that believes strongly in education beyond high school.

Possible Starts Here is the vision of our local team, which has been pursued every year since our founding over a quarter century ago. Utica Dollars for Scholars and our community partners share the belief that with self-determination and generous support, anything is possible for all students.

As Board members, volunteers and contributors, it is rewarding to know that our efforts can truly make a difference in the lives of young people, by helping them achieve a college education. It is the generosity of many that makes it possible to help provide this support for local students. We seek and maintain relationships with local businesses, families, service organizations, The Community Foundation, and donors. Through this we have established annual awards and special funds recognizing excellence and future potential in students, primarily in the City of Utica, but also for donor-designated awards throughout Oneida and Herkimer counties.

One of the best gifts we can offer our young people is access to higher education and the benefits that the completion of a postsecondary degree affords.
